The Andrews On The Manning

Joseph Andrews was an early settler and a pioneer, who played a significant part in the history of the Manning valley. He settled at Woodside in 1844.

He supported the church and the school, was a Member of Parliament and instrumental in getting the railway through to Taree.

He was joined by his brothers: Robert (of Maryville), William (of Somerset), John (Bo Bo) and a sister, Jane, who married George McPherson and lived on Dingo Creek.

It also mentions James who settled at Burrell Creek before going to Wauchope and Joseph's various nephews - some of whom went to Tallebudgera in Queensland and others who went to Maffra, Victoria.
